Trainee Estimator

As a Trainee Estimator, you will work closely with their experienced estimating team to learn the fundamental skills necessary for accurate cost estimation

You will be involved in various estimating tasks, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, subcontractor engagement, and bid preparation
Through hands-on experience and mentorship, you will gain valuable knowledge in estimating techniques, construction methods, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs and detailed material take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and ensure accurate cost inputs.
• Prepare and submit bid packages and proposals in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in the construction industry, either through internships, work placements, or academic projects, is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
