✓Job Description: The Data Protection and Information Governance Officer will provide expertise in data protection, General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR], law enforcement processing, and information governance
✓The overall purpose of this role is to advise and instruct officers, staff, and project teams to ensure legislative compliance, enable the delivery of information management strategy, and develop policies and procedures across both forces
✓The officer will also provide support and advice to the Data Protection Officer.
✓Location: Kidlington
✓Contract: Temporary-to-permanent, 6-month initial contract
✓Pay rate: £16.12 per hourResponsibilities:
✓Lead change project teams in completing Data Protection Impact Assessments [DPIA]
✓Collaborate with Procurement Teams to ensure data protection safeguards in contracts
✓Assess ICT applications for personal data usage in new IT systems
✓Support and advise Senior Leaders in managing information risks
✓Instruct data security incident investigators and propose preventive measures
✓Assess compliance of information sharing initiatives and provide guidance
✓Evaluate police records for retention or deletion, rectify inaccuracies
✓Provide advice on GDPR, data protection, and information governance
✓Conduct audits to ensure lawful data usage
✓Train and transfer expertise to new staff in the Information Governance TeamRequired Skills:
