Overall purpose of role:
The role will be based in the ALM Balance Sheet Strategy team who are responsible for the management of interest rate risk on the banking book across the Group balance sheet
The role will be primarily focused on supporting new business development and its impact on the management of interest rate risk in the banking book, driving both tactical and strategic solutions to support the business.
Key Accountabilities:
Assess the impact of business changes on the identification, modelling, measurement, reporting and management of interest rate risk on the banking book
Drive the agenda of project with calls/meetings to take place with Treasury and broader stakeholders
Design, implement and run hedging processes as required to support new business development
Work with Technology teams to design and implement strategic solutions for both the reporting and risk management using the QRM system [risk reporting system]
Ensure the modelling of business changes are correctly reflected in the production of both internal and external reporting in relation to IRRBB

This person is required to have the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders in order to achieve the strategic objectives of Barclays.

Person Specification
Personal attributes essential to performing roles including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience.
Previous customer banking book ALM/IRRBB experience
Good understanding of the IRRBB regulatory environment
Strong organisational skills
Strong understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and sources of interest rate risk
Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple, concise, succinct manner
Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven record of presenting to a wide range of audiences
Strong numerical ability and analytical skills
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Previous customer banking book ALM/IRRBB experience required
Strong understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and sources of interest rate risk
Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple, concise, succinct manor with strong presentational
abilities, both written and oral
Excellent knowledge of the UK consumer and financial markets and the impact on customer
behaviour/our hedging programmes
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Strong stakeholder management skills
Highly analytical, numerate and accurate
Self-motivated with good decision making skills and a strong control mind set
Strong numeric degree or professional qualification
