Import Clerk
Description✓Right Now Group are currently looking for a number of Import Clerks to join a fast-paced freight forwarding company based in Colnbrook, Slough
✓The perfect candidate will need to have at least 2 year's experience in the Imports department of a Freight Forwarding Company
✓Must have Imports start to finish experience and a minimum of 2 year's experience using Chief [CDS an advantage]
✓You must have experience of customs entries and sea freight quotes along with ETSF transfers
✓It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Boxtop Operating System although this is an advantage
✓Responsibilities of an Import Clerk will include:
✓Submitting customs clearance declarations via Chief / SAD / IFD / ICR
✓Responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time
✓Sea Freight quoting
✓Liaise regularly with overseas officers, partners or agents
✓Responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and that they are legal and legitimate
✓Check all is in order in this respect to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulation
✓Responsible for costing jobs and ensuring maximum profitability for the organisation
✓Check goods in as they arrive against paperwork to ensure all goods ordered are accounted for
✓Establishing contacts and relationships with HM Customs to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process
✓Manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required to be able to meet timescales
✓Arranging ETSF movements to our bonded warehouse
✓Arranging customs clearances You must be able to provide a full 5 year employment history and have a clean DBS [Criminal Record]
✓You must also be a car driver
✓Shift Patterns for Import Clerks available:
✓Monday - Friday - Hours: 09:00-17:30
✓4 on/4 off - Hours: 07:00-19:00
