Operations Assistant

DescriptionSayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit an Operations Assistant who can progress to Operations Manager.
Our client is based in Elland, they’re a well-established Group of companies, specialising in the distribution of products, they typically import product into the UK and re-sell to UK customers.
The Operations Assistant role, is reporting directly to the Directors, they’re looking to recruit a bright, motivated, degree educated candidate who is looking for a long-term career opportunity with the opportunity to progress into an operations management role and form part of a succession plan for a key member of management team.
The role is very focussed on stock management, purchasing, producing various reports and system training
It is very varied and involves taking on lots of projects for the business.
Responsibilities:
* Approving Customer applications for ecommerce account / website access
* Creation of new product codes
* Uploading new products to the website
* Dealing with price request for non-standard products
* Stock audits, checking actual stock counts match the stock on the system
* Managing quarantined stock, investigating any damages or quality issues
* Dealing with discontinued stock items
* Completion of new supplier questionnaires
* Looking a detailed, technical documents
* Training new and existing staff on Microsoft Navision, dealing with any queries on system use
* Producing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual report for various stakeholders, e.g.: stock valuation reports, sales reports, financial stock holding reports, waste packaging report etc…
* Various projects to help out companies in the group, broad scope of projects
* Helping out the purchasing office with processing purchase orders when holidays effect staffing levels
* Dealing with insurance and auditor enquires etc…
Requirements:
* Degree qualification – could be a degree in Business, Maths, Logistics or any other subject that has given strong skills on spreadsheets, data management, IT, organisational tools, project management.
* Bright, motivated, friendly personality, with confidence to speak to key contacts within the business and outside the business
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically excel, ability to write formula and understand complex formula, to understand where figures are being pulled from.
* Previous experience of Microsoft Navision would be a distinct advantage but someone who has used SAP, AS400 or similar MRP system would be considered
* Good Mathematical reasoning and ability to analyse data
* Ability to become a Navision Super User and train others
* Confidence to delegate project related admin
