Van Driver

DescriptionWe are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Van Drivers to join our growing network within our clients Depots across the country
Shifts are available on a full time or part time basis and as we are open 6 days, from Monday to Saturday and there is flexibility in the working week you choose
We also offer an enhanced overtime rate after completing 40 hours within the working week and any hours over of this will be paid at the higher rate!

Our client is responsible for the delivery of parcels to a nationwide network where you be delivering to Parcelshop locations liaising with colleagues here to ensure a smooth collection and delivery
A typical day in the life of a Van Driver will include around 10-20 drops, efficient driving of the vehicle adhering to road safety standards and effectively completing paperwork
Support is always available as we know that things can arise daily when navigating British roads, the friendly transport team are always available to help you a navigate through any issues
At the start of the working day, you will be responsible for loading your van with the parcels for your deliveries for the day ahead
Upon arrival at the Parcelshop locations you will be either collecting or dropping of parcels and ensuring these are scanned in using the handheld scanner
At the end of the day when returning to the depot, you will be responsible for unloading your van with any collection parcels you have collected through the day and organising these into the correct locations for the next colleague to continue the process.
Essential skills and requirements for a Van Driver:
We require you to have a full UK Driving Licence with a Van [Cat B] entitlement.
No more than 6 points on your Driving Licence
No CD,DD or DR conviction codes on your licence
Newly qualified drivers are welcome as well as those with experience and all drivers are expected to undertake a short driving assessment which includes a brief written test so basic English is required to complete this.
All inductions and training for this role are paid.
Communication with people across all levels is vital as you will be liaising with colleagues from all walks of life.
