Behaviour Mentor

DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a Bromley Pupil Referral Unit
The successful candidate will work with two students in key stage 4 who have been excluded from mainstream education.
The school caters for students in KS3 and KS4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health [SEMH] needs and those who have been, or are at risk of being excluded from mainstream settings
The school has a very creative curriculum that allows students to engage in learning through various methods.
Key responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with the students you are mentoring
Work with students on a one-to-one basis, developing strategies to improve their behaviour and engagement in learning
Monitor student progress and report to the senior leadership team
Work closely with teaching staff to identify students' needs and support them in the classroom
Attend regular meetings with parents/carers and external agenciesPerson Specification:
Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
A positive and proactive approach to behaviour management and mentoring
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
A creative and flexible approach to learning, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs
