They are looking for a committed English Teacher to join their small school setting
The school itself supports children who live at the residential care home and are aged between 7 to 18 years old
The school can have 13 students on role currently but are due to extend there offer in September by splitting their site into a primary and secondary provision
Additionally, the school provides the students with opportunities to develop their social and emotional skills through educational experiences such as Horse riding, forest school and Kayaking.
As a English Teacher you will be working in partnership with the school to provide both vocational and GCSE options to ensure their students have the right tools be successful in their future
The school has a fabulous approach to learning, where students are given the skills, mindset, and motivation to flourish in their future
As an English Teacher you will be responsible for overseeing the English Curriculum and curriculum coverage across all years.
The school are looking to appoint an English Teacher who has a proven track record to plan and deliver bespoke learning opportunities that challenges pupils’ knowledge and understanding
It is vital that you have a nurturing approach that creates a safe learning environment for all students
This role is suitable for both an ECT or experienced Teacher
The successful English Teacher should have a good knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum and the coverage needed to enable students to succeed
The school is looking for someone who is passionate about English and can bring learning to life for their students ensuring lessons are fun and engaging
Due to the nature of our student’s prior experience of working in a SEND/ SEMH environment is desirable but not essential.
Key duties: 
Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum and having a regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the Art curriculum.
Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each- individual.
Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
Qualities Required: 
Professional Teaching Qualifications [QTS / QTLS / PGCE / B.Ed / PTLLS / DTLLS / CELTA]
Knowledge of the English GCSE curriculum.
To be able to confidently teach core subjects.
Ability to work as part of team.
Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students’ progress.
Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning.
Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment.
Proven ability to work on own initiative, be well organised, prioritise effectively and achieve results against deadlines.
