Description✓Graduate Opportunity - Aspiring Psychologist - Special Education Needs - Learning Support Assistant
✓£19,000 to £21,000 per annum
✓I am recruiting for an exceptionally rewarding, permanent role in the Special Education Needs sector.
✓This role is in a new, innovative school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health [SEMH] difficulties
✓Many of the pupils will also have some combination of additional complex needs, such as Anxiety, ASD, ADHD, FASD, PDA, OCD, ODD, Toxic Childhood Stress / Adverse Childhood Experiences [ACEs], Attachment difficulties, Developmental Trauma or Delay, Speech and Language difficulties, Cognition and Learning difficulties, Specific Learning Difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
✓You would work under the supervision and coaching of teachers, supporting access to learning for pupils with SEMH, additional complex needs and challenging behaviour
✓You would also provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

✓You would be responsible for monitoring pupil progress and raising concerns regarding progress.
✓You would need to be comfortable in the environment in a special school, which is more intense than mainstream and continuously presents a variety of both mentally and physically challenging situations for staff at all levels.
✓Attending to the pupils' personal needs and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
✓[This may involve use of specialist equipment].
✓Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
✓Encouraging pupils to act independently as appropriate
✓Where required, being responsible for aspects of feeding, toileting, changing & pupil hygiene, and administering medication
✓Being aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and reporting to the teacher as agreed
