Description✓HLTA - Higher Level Teaching Assistant - ELSA - Social Emotional Mental Health - Small Independent School
✓Permanent - Term Time Only - £18,000 to £20,000
✓I am recruiting for a small independent alternative provision catering for 11-16 year olds where the pupils who attend have been placed at the school by the Local Education Authority
✓Their primary area of need will be Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs [SEMH].
✓We are looking for an HLTA with Emotional Literacy Support Assistant qualification or experience, or who is willing to train as an ELSA
✓Most pupils will come to us having had previous negative experience of school, resulting in emotional based school avoidance for many
✓As a result, most will have been out of school for some time, and many will join us late in their secondary educational career.
✓The school offers a very flexible, low demand, low arousal environment where pupils are at the centre of their learning choices
✓This will equip them to feel empowered and safe within the environment.

✓We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Higher Learning Teaching Assistant
✓The hours are be 8.00am - 4.00pm with one additional hour per week for meetings
✓This is a term-time only position, plus Inset days.
✓You will need to have:
✓the ability to develop positive relationships, so children feel safe and nurtured
✓the ability to demonstrate high levels of emotional wellbeing, remaining calm in the face of any challenges
✓be a team player with excellent communication skills
✓be flexible and ready for the challenge of working in a growing school
✓be energetic, creative and is committed to making a difference;This is an excellent Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity for a dedicated person who should be a good communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, a good sense of humour and a flexible approach
