Horticulture Tutor

DescriptionTeachers UK & Provide Education are currently recruiting for Horticulture Tutor for specialist college in the S21 area.
Main Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:
* Implement curriculum and farm activities as directed
* Ensure high standards of safety are observed
* Ensure grounds and facilities are well maintained
* Ensure food production is constant throughout the year
Job Description – Horticulture Tutor:
* Plan and deliver high quality teaching sessions to learners
* Promote and attend competitions, where we can show animals and produce
* To support the Farm Committee that includes those involved in the colleges
* Farm-to-Fork curriculum, Farm delivery and relevant associated activities and events
* Complete records and portfolios as directed by the Quality Improvement
* Manager, ensuring high levels of success for learners following sessions you deliver
* Participate in all available training, relevant to the role of a tutor
* Attend and participate within college committees as appropriate
* Support college promotional activities
* Manage all aspects of the learner experience for your allocated tutor group
* Responsible for maintaining learner data
* Liaise with parents/carers on learner issues and build effective relationships and to professional manage and resolve learner issues and concerns
* Attend moderation meetings for all qualifications to ensure the sharing of good practice
* Utilise to good effect the specialist support of Speech and Occupational
* Therapy as well as our health and well-being services
* Provide detailed and accurate information about learner’s progress
* Responsible for classroom management and direction of learning support staff.

Essential/Desirable:
* Vocationally relevant.
* Qualified teacher status or FE equivalent Level 3.
* GCSE [or equiv.] Maths, English [willingness to work towards].
* 2 years successful teaching.
* Horticultural expertise.
* Ability to lead a team and motivate others.
* Attention to detail.
* Willingness and ability to challenge unsatisfactory performance of learners.
* A driving license
