Humanities Teacher

Qualiteach is currently working with a SEMH School who is looking for an experienced Humanities Teacher who is able to join them in September on a full time, permanent basis
However, if the successful person is available sooner, the school can accommodate and start them sooner on a temp to perm basis
You will be responsible for a small class of 6-8 students in KS3
You will be required to teach them History, Geography, Religious Studies and Citizenship
All of the students you will be teaching will have some form of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and can be quite challenging
Due to the students needs, they will all be working at different levels and will have varied methods of learning
During your lessons you will always have 2 Teaching Assistant with you, who will be there to support the students during their lessons when they are struggling and to manage any behavioural outbursts
Therefore, the ideal Humanities Teacher for this role ideally needs to have previously worked in a Pupil Referral Unit, SEMH School or a challenging mainstream school

SEMH School

This SEMH School is found in the South London borough of Bromley and caters for students aged between 7-13 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
They currently have 180 students who attend and in their last Ofsted in 2019, they were awarded 'Good' in all areas
This school has an onsite car park and a bus stop right outside, making it an easy commute from most areas of London and Kent
