Description✓Full-Time Learning Support Assistant [Autism Focus]
✓Reeson Education, a well established education recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 boy with autism
✓This is a long-term position starting in September 2023, providing a valuable opportunity to make a positive impact on the education and well-being of a young student.
✓As a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to a Year 2 boy with autism, helping him access the curriculum and develop essential skills
✓You will work closely with the class teacher and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator [SENCo] to implement strategies and interventions tailored to the student's needs
✓Your role will involve assisting with academic tasks, promoting social interactions, managing behaviour, and providing emotional support.
✓The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with students with autism, ideally within a primary school setting
✓You will have a good understanding of autism spectrum conditions and strategies to support learning and behaviour management
✓Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential in building a trusting relationship with the student and collaborating effectively with the wider school community.
✓This is a full-time, long-term position offering competitive rates of pay in line with experience and qualifications.
✓Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
✓Experience working with students with autism, preferably within a primary school setting
✓Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and strategies to support learning and behaviour management
✓Ability to provide individualized support on a 1:1 basis
✓Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
✓Collaborative approach to working with teachers, SENCo, and parents
