School Nurse
Description✓Job: School Nurse
✓We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Nurse to join our team at a well-established educational institution
✓The School Nurse will provide essential medical care and support to our students and staff, ensuring their well-being and promoting a healthy learning environment
✓Responsibilities:
✓Provide immediate and emergency medical care to students and staff, ensuring the best possible care is available
✓Treat students and staff, encouraging their prompt return to their normal activities
✓Arrange safe transportation or alternative care for students whose return to their normal activities is unlikely or hazardous
✓Administer medication in accordance with school policies and protocols
✓Perform necessary health checks to aid in diagnosis
✓Liaise with parents and staff regarding day-to-day medical needs of students
✓Update medical policies and protocols as needed
✓Maintain the medical register and ensure staff are aware of students with high-level medical needs
✓Essential Criteria:
✓RSCN, RN-child, or RGN with relevant experience [e.g., A&E, school nursing, practice nursing]
✓Minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience
✓Ability to work independently without medical backup on site
✓Computer literate, with proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Suite, and SIMS database [desireable]
✓Medically fit and able to handle the physical demands of the role
✓Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children
✓Good working knowledge of child protection issues [training provided if necessary]
✓Full clean driving license [desirable]
✓Desirable Criteria:
✓Good working knowledge of child protection issues [training provided if necessary]
✓Experience in school nursing, A&E, paediatric nursing, or adolescent health
✓Willingness to contribute to the school community and embrace diversity
✓Calm and confident when dealing with accidents and first aid issues
✓Friendly, sympathetic, and supportive personality
