✓This role will be for the Alternative Resource Provision for Autism at this mixed mainstream Primary school
✓This role will involve planning and delivering lessons for students with an EHCP statement of Autism so prior experience teaching students with SEN is essential
✓The role is a full-time position that requires someone who is exceptionally organised and efficient, used to teaching students with additional needs and has excellent communication skills.
✓About the school
✓The school are a medium sized mixed mainstream school for primary students aged 3-11 years old based in West Acton
✓They currently have 676 students in the school with a further 21 students within their Autism provision
✓The resource provision is purpose built with specialist features for students with additional needs, including a calm room, where students can request to go to decompress when feeling overstimulated, a sensory room, with tactile toys, textured materials and interactive graphics and an Occupational Therapy room where students can engage with sensory regulatory activities that engage their gross motor skills
✓They aim to provide children with a specialist provision where they are taught by a high ratio of specialist staff in small, low arousal classrooms
✓The high number of staff allows for pupils to have their individual needs met and support them in accessing the National Curriculum
✓There is an expectation that ARP pupils will integrate into mainstream school life for part of the day.
