We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our team in Lewisham
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the personal, social, and academic development of all students.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Assess and monitor student's progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to develop individualised education plans [IEPs] and ensure consistent support for students.
Work closely with parents/carers, providing regular feedback on student's progress and addressing any concerns or queries.
Maintain accurate records and reports on student's achievements, attendance, and behaviour.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in SEN teaching and implement effective teaching practices.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status [QTS] or equivalent.
Experience working with students with SEN in a primary and/or secondary specialist school setting.
Strong knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and speech and language difficulties.
Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
