As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the students, both in and out of the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting students with their academic work, providing individualized support tailored to their specific needs.
Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence among students.
Supporting students in managing their emotions and developing coping strategies to navigate their mental health challenges effectively.
Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement personalized education plans [IEPs] and ensure students' progress.
Encouraging and facilitating student engagement in extracurricular activities and social interactions.
Maintaining accurate records of students' progress and reporting any concerns to the appropriate professionals.
Assisting with administrative tasks and classroom preparation as required
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria: Possess a genuine passion for working with young individuals with mental health needs.
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational or SEN setting.
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to student support.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and professionals.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of our students
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm.
