✓They are recruiting a special needs teaching assistant to support a child in Y5 with Autism
✓The shortlisted candidate will work on a full-time basis via the agency.
✓This multi-cultural primary school has 489 students on roll
✓As an inclusive school, they have outstanding SEN resources and work hard to support students and families
✓As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills.
✓The school requires a skilled individual to work 1:1 with a child with multiple needs
✓The student can often become dysregulated and requires a TA who has the tools and strategies to help him with emotional regulation
✓The role requires someone who has experience and knowledge supporting children with ASD either within a SEN or mainstream school
✓Attributes that work well in this role include a calm and soft demeanour, alongside the ability to enforce boundaries and structure.
✓To apply for this role, you will need to have:
✓Previous experience supporting children with Autism [verbal and non-verbal]
✓Strong understand and techniques for emotional regulation
✓Commit for the academic year
✓Provide references from a school or child related setting
✓A current DBS on the update service or be willing to complete a new DBSThe school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
✓You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.
