We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs to reach their full potential
You will work closely with the SENCo [Special Educational Needs Coordinator] and teaching staff to provide individualised support and implement effective strategies in the classroom
Your responsibilities will include assisting with learning activities, adapting materials to meet specific needs, and promoting an inclusive and nurturing environment for all students.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the SENCo and teaching staff to plan and implement personalised learning strategies for students with special educational needs.
Provide one-on-one and small group support, adapting materials and resources to accommodate individual learning requirements.
Assist students with their daily routines, personal care, and specific needs, ensuring their well-being and safety.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging student participation and engagement.
Implement behaviour management strategies and support students in developing social and emotional skills.
Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the SENCo and teaching staff.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external professionals to ensure effective communication and holistic support for students.
Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN provision.Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of a high school diploma; relevant college degree or teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
Previous experience working with students with special educational needs in a school or similar setting.
Knowledge of a range of SEN conditions and understanding of appropriate support strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt and prioritise responsibilities.Benefits:
