Position Overview: We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN TA to join a vibrant school in the borough of Lewisham, starting in September
As an SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in assisting and supporting a child with special educational needs in their educational journey
This is a full-time, long-term position that offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on a child's life.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to a child with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Assist the child in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials and resources as required.
Implement individualized learning plans, following guidance from the school's SEN coordinator and other professionals.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging the child's social and emotional development.
Collaborate with the class teacher and other support staff to promote effective communication and cohesive support for the child.
Monitor and track the progress of the child, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with the appropriate stakeholders.
Promote independence and self-confidence in the child, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Uphold the school's policies and procedures, ensuring the child's safety and maintaining confidentiality at all times.Requirements:
Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
Knowledge and understanding of various SEN conditions and strategies to support learning and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with the child, their parents/guardians, and the wider school community.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual needs and learning styles.
A positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
An enhanced DBS [Disclosure and Barring Service] check or willingness to undergo one.
