GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a dynamic Sports Coach to work at an Alternative Provision in Selby, North Yorkshire starting in September 2023
This is a part-time position, every Friday

To establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
To contribute to providing high quality, challenging, and differentiated physical activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
Promote self-confidence, self-esteem, teamwork skills and social skills. 
Sports Coach Requirements:
Hold a Sport and Exercise Science or Physical Education Degree at 2:1 classification or higher.
Experience coaching or teaching PE to young people aged 11-16 years old.
Knowledge of basic sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation techniques is crucial.
Strong leadership abilities to inspire, motivate, and guide young people.
The ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain a positive and inclusive team environment.
Have at least 1-year previous experience working with people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
Be passionate about supporting children with their learning.
Be enthusiastic, friendly, and confident
• Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities.
Be able to relate well to young people and adults and have some understanding of the range of needs of young people with learning difficulties.
Be able to work effectively in a team.
Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education
