My client specialises in the delivery of essential public services, with over 50,000 people working in defence, transport, justice, immigration, healthcare, and other citizen services across our four regions: UK & Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and Middle East.
The role is based at my client's site in Waterlooville and you will be working a 37.5 hour week spread across Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Offered with a 3-month rolling contract there is the strong possibility of the contract being extended
You will be part of a small team of 5, working within the Defence/Design, Integration, and test division, supporting their build and support contracts for the manufacture, assembly, repair and delivery of the equipment they provide to their customers across the UK and Europe
You will report directly to the Production Controller, but on a day-to-day basis will also take direction on the priority of tasks/activities from Programme Managers and Lead Engineers in the business.
Job Role:
Prototyping, Manufacture and Repair of wiring assemblies, PCBs and systems to a high standard in accordance with technical drawings, processes and QA procedures
Predominantly this will involve work on electronics, along with the assembly of some simple mechanical items.
Technical and professional skills and knowledge
Prototype wiring, including developing production methods from the prototypes.
Connector and contact assembly, crimping, terminating and tooling [coaxial contacts, triaxial contacts, etc.]
Repair and rework of surface-mount PCBs [soldering].

Organised and methodical approach to work
Effectively manage time, resources and relationships to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
Conversant with Mechanical/Wiring Drawings an advantage
Previous experience of working to defence and/or aircraft standards, with their associated documentation and controls, would be advantageous
