Electrical Design Engineer
Description✓My client based in Ipswich are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer
✓Key Activities:
✓• Lead Electrical designer on NDP automation machines designing new systems from scratch.
✓• Design of safety systems from scratch.
✓• Design of electrical cabinets for new machines.
✓• Responsible for creating / modifying electrical drawings as required.
✓• Produce pneumatic diagrams.
✓• Support production with electrical fault diagnosis.
✓• Assist controls engineer on commissioning activities.
✓• Continuous improvement of existing machines.
✓• Responsible for electrical safety, electrical risk assessments and standards compliance.
✓• Occasional participation in commissioning of the clients machines internationally.
✓• Management of Junior electrical engineers / technicians.
✓• Ownership of electrical BOMS.
✓Skills & Qualifications
✓• Electrical or mechatronic qualification, minimum foundation degree, HNC, HND or degree in an applicable discipline.
✓• Minimum 8 years experience in creating / reading electrical schematics / circuit diagrams.
✓• Minimum 5 years experience in design of complete electrical systems including safety systems
✓• Excellent understanding of UKCA / CE marking PUWER and machine certification.
✓• knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper and AC motors.
✓• Knowledge of PLC’s, coding experience would be useful [Ladder logic and structured text].
✓• SolidWorks electrical experience advantageous.
✓• IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification advantageous.
✓• PUWER accreditation / understanding advantageous.
✓• Good general computer skills
✓• Strong cause-effect analytical abilities
