I am recruiting for the UK's leading independent supplier of postal mail preparation equipment, offering a wide range of solutions from top industry manufacturers at competitive prices
Products range from envelope and addressing printers, high volume data inkjet printers, inserting, tabbing and labeling machines, poly wrapping systems and direct mail software.
The Role
My client are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Field Service Engineer with excellent electronic and mechanical skills to service, repair and maintain their broad range of mailing and packaging products in the UK and with possible overseas travel
This is a highly varied role which requires good attention to detail, a flexible approach, and excellent face to face customer skills in a fast-paced environment.
Function
The function of the Field Engineer is to install, repair and service an array of electrical mechanical equipment associated with the mail handling industry.
The ideal candidate must have strong customer-facing and communication skills along with proven electrical, and mechanical background preferably gained servicing and maintaining similar equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform remedial repair activities on customer site.
* Perform hardware and software installations.
* Recognises situations requiring a service call Escalation and follows proper Escalation Procedures.
* Provide the support required to close service events promptly, within the SLA and to the satisfaction of the customer
* returns timely, accurate and unambiguous paperwork to the Service Controller
* As needed, communicates frequently with customers and other client personnel
* Validating actual problem and validating correct parts to be used for service
* Effective 'debrief' and reporting of service calls for future enhancements
* Extensive travel to and from customer locations nationwide documenting work activity and maintaining administrative paperwork.
* On-going training to enhance individual technical competency
* Train other engineers
* Perform any other duties assigned by your manager
Hold relevant engineering qualifications [electrical/mechanical]
