Grade 3 Fabricators/Welders - [12 Month Fixed Term Assignment]

DescriptionAs a Fabricator/Welder Specialist working for Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to work with
and contribute towards a team of semi-skilled and skilled Fabricator/Welder employees
In this
skilled role you will perform basic fabrication and welding tasks and will have the opportunity to
develop your communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative
You will interact
with hourly and salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your Team Leader.
There are opportunities for those Fabricator/Welder Specialists who are keen to progress in the
production environment and to leadership positions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Welding, fabricating and tack welding components and sub assemblies of generator sets according to print specifications, manually or with automatic welding machines
Set up and operate manual and automatic welding machines to produce a variety of production fabrications such as frames, white goods, canopy components etc
Repair and/or rework production fabrications.
Compliance with safety and quality standards
Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
Train other employees if and when required
Any other appropriate duties.Required Qualifications:
NVQ2 or equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline.
The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above
Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns and a reasonable amount of overtime.Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience in welding/fabrication.
Previous experience working in a lean environment.
Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to transport work and to use a measuring tape and/or square to check work
Ability to work from heights.
Strong customer focus.
Attention to detail to meet quality standards
Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work.Benefits:

Day Shift - £12.34/hr
Night Shift - £16.45/hr
Overtime - £18.51/hr [First ten hours]
Overtime - £24.68/hr [After ten hours overtime]
