Grade 3 Fabricators/Welders - [12 Month Fixed Term Assignment]
Description✓As a Fabricator/Welder Specialist working for Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to work with
✓and contribute towards a team of semi-skilled and skilled Fabricator/Welder employees
✓In this
✓skilled role you will perform basic fabrication and welding tasks and will have the opportunity to
✓develop your communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative
✓You will interact
✓with hourly and salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your Team Leader.
✓There are opportunities for those Fabricator/Welder Specialists who are keen to progress in the
✓production environment and to leadership positions.
✓Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
✓Welding, fabricating and tack welding components and sub assemblies of generator sets according to print specifications, manually or with automatic welding machines
✓Set up and operate manual and automatic welding machines to produce a variety of production fabrications such as frames, white goods, canopy components etc
✓Repair and/or rework production fabrications.
✓Compliance with safety and quality standards
✓Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
✓Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
✓Train other employees if and when required
✓Any other appropriate duties.Required Qualifications:
✓NVQ2 or equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline.
✓The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above
✓Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns and a reasonable amount of overtime.Desired Qualifications:
✓Previous experience in welding/fabrication.
✓Previous experience working in a lean environment.
✓Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to transport work and to use a measuring tape and/or square to check work
✓Ability to work from heights.
✓Strong customer focus.
✓Attention to detail to meet quality standards
✓Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work.Benefits:
