Our client is recognized globally as a market leader in the provision of highest quality and efficient Materials Handling and sortation solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of continuous strategic growth, an urgent need has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and highly capable Installation Engineer to complement their existing team covering the UK
Based from home [ideally centrally located around the Rugby, Coventry, Warwickshire or Leicester areas but flexible] and reporting to the Installations Manager, the successful Installation engineer can be based anywhere as far north as Sheffield and as far south as Bedfordshire [and anywhere in between], and the successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly and installation of company products and associated equipment to the declared engineering specification or as instructed by the Installations Manager, providing support to the Project and Installation teams as required and liaising with customers in a concise manner to ensure satisfaction at every stage of a project
You will additionally conduct planned preventive service maintenance and reactive breakdown and repair of customer equipment and systems on site as required whilst ensuring compliance at all times with relevant health and safety requirements
You will work as part of a team of more than 5 installation engineers and 20 field service engineers on projects that will range from between £100k to £10m+, and will work closely with the installation manager, project managers and engineers, fellow field service and installation team members and customers so exceptional communication skills at all levels are essential for the position
Other duties will include accurately completing job sheets and project or quality records as required, and exhaustively testing the installation and commissioning of equipment supplied, recording any customer issues if they arise
It is envisaged that the successful Installation Engineer candidate will be qualified to HNC level or above in a relevant engineering discipline and currently be working within a plant and equipment maintenance environment and demonstrate previous experience of working within a materials handling or automated process environment
You will possess strong mechanical skills and will be electrically biased, ideally time served and with comprehensive experience of working with AC and DC controls, automatic process equipment
hydraulic and pneumatic systems and at height
As the role is autonomous, you will be comfortable in using your own initiative and able to work in a diverse range of locations and environments throughout the UK, with initial induction training and winch safety course training provided at inception
Despite the individual nature of the role, you will essentially demonstrate the ability to develop relationships with fellow team members and customers and will be a confident communicator in a customer facing environment and committed to providing the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction
In return, an attractive and generous remuneration package is available along with generous overtime, a company van, 25 days holiday and 8 statutory days, 5% matched pension contribution and additional expenses and overnight subsistence allowances as required
