Project Designer / Engineering Technician [SFS / Tekla]
Description✓My Client, a large construction and engineering company is recruiting for a Project Engineer / Engineering Technician to join their specialist lightweight steel department [SFS - Steel Framed Solutions Team].
✓This role is well suited to an Engineering Technician with Tekla skills / expertise ideally of a civil / structural / mechanical engineering background
✓Structural steel; SFS or light steel framing experience would be an advantage to the role but is not essential if steel based project experience in general can be evidenced.
✓As Project Designer you will undertake a well-rounded role which will encompass the following duties:
✓Carry out design / detailing to an advance level utilising Tekla Structures
✓Interpretation of architect's and structural engineer's drawings
✓Incorporation of comments
✓as required [external/Internal]
✓Attend Design Team Meetings without support and to speak about technical issues and promote the company
✓To be smart in appearance and conduct all affairs both inside and outside your normal place of work in a professional and efficient manner that promotes the Company and enhances its reputation
✓Have in depth knowledge of building physics relevant to market sectors to ensure
✓technical liaison with Architects, Engineers, specifies, contractor and approved installers
✓on all design and technical issues
✓Take responsibility for the preparation and issue of GA drawingsIndividual
✓A qualification in a technical subject is required
✓It is desirable that the person has a
✓recognised construction-based accreditation.
✓Demonstrate strong leadership skills, and strong drive for results
✓Display strength of
✓character and determination not to be distracted from achieving team goals;
✓Be aware of the requirement to work as part of a team
✓Adopt a flexible approach to
✓workload whilst demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work
✓Deliver
✓administrative records on time and up to date;
✓Clearly and concisely express key issues at a level that suits the listener and confidently
✓handle challenges or unexpected issues;
✓Demonstrate you have a sound working knowledge and skill in using 2D and 3D CAD [AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit desirable but not essential], and the ability to handle data appropriate to your role.
