Tooling Engineer
Description✓Lmbs and Things are now looking for a Tooling Engineer to join their busy team in St Philips, Bristol!
✓As a Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for every detail of the tooling design and development process, this is central to continuous improvement initiatives and FMEA creation and management.
✓You will be working in collaboration with many areas of the business, especially R&D and Production, with a focus on helping deliver projects on time, and to meet cost and quality targets and so excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines is essential.
✓The Tooling Engineer specialises in creating tooling solutions for Silicone and PU foam moulding as well as Jigs & Fixtures for new and existing production needs
✓We will also develop Tooling Design Solutions to support various processing techniques from R&D through to volume component manufacture as well as revamping tooling standards to reduce production costs and researching new tooling concepts.
✓Tooling Engineer Requirements:
✓The ideal candidate will have an Engineering Degree or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with at least 7 years’ experience in injection mould tooling design or similar.
✓You will have a good working knowledge of silicone rubber processing, and an in-depth knowledge of small to large-scale production and manufacturing.
✓Relevant technical skills and knowledge should include
✓3D Solid Modelling along with full Engineering Drawings [SolidWorks experience preferred],
✓FEA and Mould Flow Analysis,
✓Continuous Improvement [Six Sigma or Lean] and
✓Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills including MS project
✓A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
✓Strong project / program management abilities in order to effectively develop systems or oversee personnel.
✓A working knowledge of ERP systems
✓Experience of using SolidWorks Vault [PDM] would be an advantage although not essential.
✓The successful candidate will have solid analytical abilities, they will be a creative and progressive thinker with a practical, can-do attitude and excellent communication and teamworking skills.
