✓The company is expanding and seeks to hire a UAV Product Engineer for all aspects of product development including project management, engineering analysis, standards, specifications, testing, certification, statistical analysis, and manufacturing.
✓Role & Responsibilities
✓As a UAV Product Engineer you will fit within a small yet expanding team, working in a collaborative environment across several internal and external resources and will be the technical interface between EPD and the manufacturing environment.
✓You will project manage the design and manufacture of industry leading, cutting-edge products that offer solutions to commercial, recreational, and military UAV requirements
✓Delivering solutions which are cost-effective, align to project milestones and consider the full product lifecycle
✓This will involve taking design projects from concept to completion.
✓Major activities/Key challenges
✓* Interpreting customers’ specifications and setting design requirements based on briefs
✓* Provide guidance to new product development, determining manufacturing requirements.
✓* Develop test plans to meet applicable standards.
✓* Support test unit installation, interpret test procedures, and understand test outcomes.
✓* Perform structural analysis utilizing engineering principals and software.
✓* Application of our engine system into customers’ airframes, designing new assemblies and components as required.
✓* Utilize project management principles and practices.
✓* Producing engineered solutions to meet a vast range of technical demands.
✓* Analysing how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences
✓Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
✓* Significant knowledge / experience of UAV’s and their design and manufacture is essential.
✓* A sound knowledge producing and developing UAV designs across a range of device types and technologies from concept, through evaluation to New Product Development delivery.
✓* Experience working with a range of business stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones.
✓* Familiarity of electrical and electronic control systems is required.
✓* A sound knowledge of mechanical engineering regarding precision rotating machinery
✓* Experience within a Design, development, and production environment
✓Working knowledge of Solidworks or similar software
✓* Concept Models, Build Instructions Technical Reports, Manuals Tooling Design, Engineering analysis: Stress Analysis, basic CFD, FMEA, Risk Analysis, etc.
✓Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required with hours, as on occasion you may be required to work additional hours to meet customer needs.
✓Highly Desirable
✓* Familiarity with small aircraft and their propulsion systems would be a bonus
✓* Working knowledge of Approvals and Certification
✓Ideally you will have at least 5 years’ experience of this type of work.
✓* Solidworks experience 3D design, Min 2 years [5 Years Preferred].
✓The Person
✓You will be educated to degree level and/ or have experience in a relevant engineering environment [Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls]
✓Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
✓You should be highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking
✓You have the ability to work accurately and at pace.
✓You have excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and inter-personal, to be used collaborating across Engineering Disciplines, including Verification, Manufacturing, and production engineering.
