✓LTi Metaltech specialises in the precision fabrication and welding of high-performance vessels and structures for use in demanding industrial applications, from cryogenic pressure vessels to high tech industrial furnaces, and nuclear waste containers.
✓The role:
✓We have an excellent opportunity for an Undergraduate Mechanical/Production Engineer to join us on a 12-month Placement from August/September 2022.
✓To make the most of this Placement Opportunity you will have a solid knowledge of basic engineering principles; you will be highly self-motivated and able to work and communicate well at all levels across the business.
✓Job Purpose:
✓To run, manage and deliver small engineering projects such as process improvements, design to cost and tooling design to help achieve business objectives.
✓Key Accountabilities:
✓To define & co-ordinate robust engineering processes
✓development of manufacturing processes achieving maximum output and efficiency.
✓Generation and implementation of engineering solutions to take products from development to full production.
✓Leading the application of detailed process understanding to design, develop and optimise manufacturing processes.
✓Maintain/create engineering/production documents.
✓Support key business projectsExample Tasks Supporting Key Accountabilities:
✓Example Task 1
✓Identify opportunities and priorities for improving engineering processes.
✓Analysis of processes using various methodologies, including; process FMEA, risk assessments, POKE-YOKE.
✓Technical report to be produced, assessing current process design suitability to meet LTi production capabilities.Example Task 2
✓Assess alternatives and gain input on ideas from relevant departments.
✓Design a process to optimise manufacturing methods with consideration to process flow methods and flexibility.
✓Following consultation and agreement of proposed methods, design jigs/fixtures and tooling associated with the above.Example Task 3
✓Develop and design processes that deliver process improvement, provide process capability and capacity to enable both volume and product variance growth.
✓Design validation protocol and agree with Manufacturing and Quality departments.
✓Validate processes and implement for volume production.Examples Task 4
✓Co-ordinate implementation of processes; defining scope, assessing options and alternatives, defining solutions, full validation and implementation on time.
✓Facilitate disciplines across the business in delivering new solutionsPersonal Attributes:
