They are looking for a Food Assistant to assist with the day to day running of the kitchen.
The Role
To deliver an efficient and effective service, and assist the day-to-day kitchen operations, communicating with the residents and resolving issues.
As a Food Assistant you will have the ability to cope in a busy environment, work well under pressure, and deal calmly with unexpected situations
You will be an enthusiastic team player and demonstrate a passion for hospitality
With a willingness to learn, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of food
* Assist with serving meals and collecting used crockery and cutlery
* Assist with the daily preparation of the serving area
* Undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen, serving areas and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc
* Store goods delivered
* Assist with the preparation of buffets and working lunches
* Ensure food allergens are clearly displayed
* Assist Line Manager and Chef as required
Customer Service:
* Maintain standards of excellence, within customer service, etiquette, and knowledge
* To ensure that the standards of service in all areas meet the required levels
* Promptly solve queries, issues and challenges
* Deal with complaints promptly, professionally and compassionately, ensuring they are accurately logged for follow-up and resolution
* To maintain the standard of dress required
* Communicate clearly and effectively
Health & Safety:
* Clean and sanitise equipment and workstations.
* Adhere to all H&S, COSHH and Food Safety requirements at all times.
* Be aware of and observe all safety and security procedures and report any hazards or incidents to the duty manager immediately.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping of the food service area, floor areas, toilets and equipment.
* Understand and follow all company policies and procedures and where this may not be understood actively highlight to your Line Manager seeking support and guidance.
* Employees as individuals of the Company have a statutory duty to co-operate together to promote and follow health and safety best practice specific to your place of work.
KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
* Basic food preparation and service of food.
* Working in a busy kitchen environment.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures
* Knowledge of food safety procedures
* Creativity and presentation skills
