DescriptionJob Purpose
Lead and co-ordinate enhancements to asset data and information IT systems and processes to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
Proactively identify opportunities for effective asset investment and asset use
Analyse and model asset data and information in the context of social housing issues, with specific reference to asbestos data, stock condition data and building safety data.
Produce asset related reports as required.
Key job outcomes/accountabilities
• Lead on ensuring that the overall quality, quantity and security of asset data meets Housing & Landlord Services’ strategic needs
This includes co-ordinating and ensuring timely uploads of asset data and information by other staff.
• Lead on promoting stakeholder awareness of asset data and information sources and their responsibilities for accurate data capture
Manage and maintain associated databases and web sites to achieve stakeholder confidence in asset data and advise stakeholders of appropriate changes to systems and data capture requirements.
• Re-configure asset data systems to meet strategic /policy and standards changes
This will include changes to data fields, reporting and categorisation criteria, user access and updating component costs.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, upgrade and interface data systems and reconcile data and manage system change control processes.
• Produce investment forecasts, works planning scenarios, asset categorisation, scenario modelling and statutory and ad-hoc reports.
• Champion an excellent customer/stakeholder experience with Housing and Landlord Services
Understand the different needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders
Consult with customers and stakeholders and monitor and check customer satisfaction.
• Use IT to interrogate and present asset information
This can include:
- Using asset databases, housing management and document management systems, data warehouse, graphical information systems
- Creating reports embedded with photographs, charts and diagrams and software such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word and asset database and electronic documents.
• Maintain an excellent up to date working knowledge of:
- Asset management related policies / standards and processes
- The technologies, systems and databases supporting asset management
- Best practice in reviewing assets and use of asset data
• Plan and manage own workload, and take responsibility for progressing projects and processes
Ensure where work is delegated or carried out by other parties, such as contractors, that an overview of progress is maintained and deadlines met
Ensure stakeholders are kept informed of progress throughout the process and that the work is completed to quality, financial and time targets.
