Band 5 ICT Operations Support Officer

DescriptionBand 5 ICT Operations Support Officer, mon-fri 9am-5pm, £13.84 an hour
The role is temporary initially for 6 months.
This role will be trust wide with base being Antrim Area Hospital or ballymoney
Travel will be paid from base.
University degree or relevant professional qualification in an ICT discipline and have worked for at least 1 year in an ICT related technical role1 in a large organisation2
OR
HND or recognised equivalent professional qualification in and ICT discipline and have worked for at least 2 years in an ICT related technical role1 in a large orgnisation2.
OR
have worked for at least 5 years in an ICT related technical role1 in a large orgnisation2.
And
• ITIL foundation certificate or in the absence of same, can demonstrate knowledge of the principles and be willing to secure certification within 6 months of appointment
Relevant experience is considered to be one or more of the following in an ICT environment:
• Provision of ICT Services such as 3rd party support or hardware deployment
• 1st or 2nd line technical support to end users
• Participation in ICT projects in an ICT technical role
• Cyber security windows desktop infrastructure maintenance
A large organisation is considered to use more than 200 computer workstations
• Knowledge of best practice for the delivery of ICT services e.g
ITIL, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, Prince 2
• Ability to analyse, interpret and present statistical information verbally or in report format
• Ability to understand complex and specialised technical matters.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills and have an ability to provide clear, concise input.
• Ability to de-escalate difficult situations, which then lead to agreed outcomes.
• Ability to work as part of a team with a positive can do attitude, ability to work under pressure and on own initiative, have a logical approach, calm temperament and ability to organise and prioritise workload.
• Knowledge of current ICT hardware and software
• Working knowledge of a range of recent versions [from Office 2010] of software packages to include Microsoft Office Excel, Work, Access applications
Interview
• The post holder must be prepared to be flexible in relation to working outside of normal office hours, as required to meet the needs of the service
[This may include participation in an ICT on-call rota].
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK
• Access to a car on appointment
This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
• General good health for the demands of the post.
