Senior Network Engineer
Description✓Do you have experience providing 3rd line support? Do you have a level 5 NVQ in IT, ISEB, or anything similar? Do you live in or around Essex?
✓We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who can support Essex and Kent Police Force with IT infrastructure development, technical advice, problem resolution, troubleshooting, evaluation, device configuration and transitional arrangements.
✓Role: Senior Network Engineer
✓Location: Agile working
✓Office based at Sandford Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford CM2 6DA
✓Rate: £18.57ph
✓Job Type: Till November 2023 initially with a possibility of extension
✓Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri, standard office hours, 37 hours per week
✓Start: Once cleared the police vetting process
✓Responsibilities:
✓Provide technical support to Force network infrastructure, diagnosing complex problems, evaluating risks, and maintaining IT systems throughout Kent Police and Essex Police.
✓Identify network infrastructure risks, review threats, assess impact, escalate, and create solutions for effective data protection.
✓Assess and advise on hardware and software configuration, upgrades, operation, control, and maintenance
✓Manage network changes, enhance capacity, and provide recovery for Kent and Essex Police.
✓Implement IT infrastructure security policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring auditable records and user documentation.
✓Create open communication techniques for network support services, attend meetings and share information to improve customer relations and service quality.Experience needed:
✓Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience with a thorough understanding of developments in networking and communications or equivalent.
✓Working experience as a 3rd line support
✓Level 5 NVQ for Information Technology professionals or equivalent / Higher Level Infrastructure Management Diploma [ISEB]
✓Effective knowledge of ITIL Version 3 is required; specifically change, problem and incident management,
✓SFIA Skills at Level 4 in Systems Integration, Release Management and Solution Architecture
✓Broad understanding of IT infrastructure architecture, including frameworks and principles for servers, networks, and operating systems such as Windows Server, UNIX, LINUX, Oracle, SQL-Server, TDM, ATM, and TCP/IP
✓Able to recognise new hardware, software, and communication technologies, as well as examine their significance
✓Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Benefits:
