Paralegal
Description✓A company specialising in developing and marketing environmental technologies is seeking a Paralegal to support colleagues in contentious and non-contentious construction matters
✓The Paralegal will have completed a relevant degree and have worked 5 years in the construction sector or similar
✓The Paralegal will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, in addition, has good judgement, research ability, and familiarity in a similar environment

✓Key Responsibilities:
✓Drafts, revises, and assembles contracts
✓Assists the COO with corporate matter, or contract issues
✓Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the company
✓Provide legal information for development applications and proposals
✓Write letters, pleadings, and forms with oversight from the COO and General Counsel
✓Obtain backup documentation and information, in partnership with project teams
✓Gather and organize evidence, information, and stories for matters as assigned by the COO
✓Researching and organizing documents, analysing data, and preparing chronologies and narratives
✓Use technical knowledge and experience to evaluate documents and prepare presentation material related to construction claims
✓Draft, track, and process owner contracts, optimisation agreements, and principle designer agreements from proposal through execution and distribution
✓Train and coach project teams and individuals in legal processes, policies and procedures
✓Coordinate and participate in special legal projects
✓Lead and/or participate in project strategy meetings that relate to contract issues
✓Review and assist project teams and Purchasing in the negotiation of subcontracts and purchase orders.
✓Will be assisting with bundling, drafting, administration and a variety of ad hoc projects
✓Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
✓Essential:
✓A college/university degree and 5 years of experience in construction management, engineering, or corporate or construction legal support [Graduates with an LPC or ILEx with 1 - 2 years of work experience will also be considered]
✓Must be an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant who has prerequisite experience in 5+ years' experience with Construction and the following:
✓Complex contract negotiation, administration, and adjudication
✓
✓Document management software, and thorough knowledge of MS Office
✓
✓Factual research, document analysis, filings, drafting documents, coordinating document production
✓
✓Familiarity with, understanding of, and ability to work with attorneys on construction matters.
✓Excellent written communication, strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
✓Demonstrate good judgment about prioritizing the completion of multiple responsibilities
✓Familiarity with legal concepts relevant to the construction industry or to an in-house corporate legal practice
✓legal processes, systems and rules, or the interest and ability to learn
✓Must have knowledge of contentious and non-contentious
✓Desirable:
✓Experience within the legal Rules of Professional Conduct
✓Construction scheduling and claims experience
✓Ability to read and interpret schedules, contract drawings, and specifications
