About The Role
Leicester City Women’s Football Club are looking for a Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist to join the Academy team
The key duties of the role will be to fulfil the role of a Physiotherapist/Sport Therapist in the assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of all injuries and to drive the development of evidence-based protocols for all areas of Sports Therapy within LCFCW Academy.
This role will involve working with under 18 players.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience of:
* Working in an elite high-performance setting and working in an interdisciplinary sports science and medicine team.
* Significant experience in the delivery of injury diagnosis, treatment and prevention strategies within a sporting environment.
* Maintaining detailed records for all activities in the department in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
* Leading the implementation of the departmental injury prevention protocols through assessment, analysis, delivery and auditing of collected data.
The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and knowledge;
* Excellent clinical reasoning and treatment skills.
* Excellent understanding of the principles and delivery of injury prevention programmes and protocols and in the understanding and delivery of rehabilitative therapy to adolescents.
* Ability to lead group sessions and deliver gym and pitch-based programmes to groups and individuals.
* Have an excellent understanding of the principles of human performance and how they relate to clinical sports medicine.
* Ability to develop productive relationships within the department, football club and with relevant individuals within the wider sports medicine community.
* Able to work to establish the role in a new team within the Club, you will have the ability to work in a fast moving environment, managing change and embedding new ways of working.
* Therefore an adaptable, practical, flexible and innovative approach to work will be important.
* Willing to support and promote the Club and Football Philosophy.
Essential Requirement –
* Have full membership of The Society of Sports Therapy.
* Have appropriate medical indemnity to treat/advise FA WSL and FA WC players.
* The Sports Therapist must have an up to date full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification; this should be the Level 4 ITMMiF.
