Are you an experienced and strategic HR and L&D Manager looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join the team as the Head of HR and L&D
This is a senior management role where you will be responsible for driving and improving the HR and L&D services to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
The Role:
With a people-centric approach to your duties, you will cultivate a culture that promotes our values. Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team to lead on the strategic direction of the people experience, ensuring that the current and future needs of the internal customers are met
Leading the Human Resources [HR] and Learning and Development [L&D] Team to provide individuals with an excellent experience at all points of the employee life cycle.
Deliver strategic, advisory, and administrative objectives which support the overall strategic aims of the Group.
Demonstrate good people skills with the ability to lead and manage employees.
Display excellent Leadership skills to provide guidance and assistance to employees within the department as well as throughout the company.
Manage the HR and L&D Team and oversee activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management.
Provide professional advice and support to managers and staff on all aspects of people management and development which fully reflects the overall HR, L&D, and Business strategy.
Oversee processes and policies to ensure they are fair for all employees.
Continuously deliver a high-quality service to the Group.
Key Accountabilities:
To implement, and ensure the adoption of, the HR and L&D strategies, regularly reporting to Board on key measures and performance against KPI’s.
Provide a quarterly update to Board on HR/L&D Standards and Measures,
Identify improvements required to gain Investors in People initial accreditation status and work towards achieving a higher accreditation.
To oversee the creation and implementation of Group Training Framework that delivers an innovative and effective suite of learning activities, building a culture of continuous improvementand championing high performance.
Anticipate and identify HR priorities and recommend solutions.
Recognise the needs of the Group and ensure implementation of the HR and L&D strategy.
Ensure a regular audit is carried out of employee files, ensuring up-to-date and relevant information is always included and stored securely.
Ensure that HR policies and the staff handbook are regularly updated where necessary and that policies are fit for purpose, incorporating Best Practice and current Employment Law.
Design and deliver HR-related policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Work closely with the Directors and other managers in proactively identifying departmental and individual HR needs and taking the appropriate action to address these.
Play an active role in monthly Group Services meetings, identifying, raising, and exploring business-related issues from a HR perspective.
Provide guidance and support in relation to capability, grievance, and disciplinary-related matters.
To oversee all recruitment activities for the business, including attraction, selection, and pre-employment checks, as well as maintenance of the electronic recruitment inbox.
Manage and oversee the administrative duties undertaken by the HR Team and ensure the quality of work reflects the Langley standard.
To regularly report on financialspend and carry out budget forecasting for learning & development activities, maintaining strict controls over the expenditure and coordination of all training requirements.
Requirements:
Proven experience in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and involving them in delivering and improving HR and L&D services.
Strong track record of identifying, negotiating, and introducing creative HR/L&D solutions within policy guidelines.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing project or performance action plans.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a demanding workload effectively.
Proficiency in budget setting, monitoring, and control.
Experience in implementing and maintaining quality systems.
Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement complex strategies to meet business needs.
