This Level 4 Apprenticeship involves working on a Private Finance Initiative [PFI] Contract producing long term Lifecycle plans that maintain the Army’s Estate on Salisbury Plain
Under the tutelage of experienced colleagues, the apprentice will acquire the skills and experience to draft and produce scope of work documents for Lifecycle funded Construction projects with the aim of keeping the MOD’s estate in a good and serviceable condition for the life of the PFI contract.
A typical working week for this role includes:
* Supervision of specialist contractors
* The control of health and safety standards on construction projects
* Recording, control, and reporting of progress on a construction project
* The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
* Control of quality of works on a construction project
* Assisting commercial staff with the monitoring of costs on a construction project
Essential skills required to do well in this role includes having good/excellent IT skills with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, as well as excellent written communication and presentation skills.
You should also be able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team, identifying potential business risks and opportunities, and delivering high-quality service that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations in the most cost effective and timely manner and within agreed budget and process.
Training details:
The apprenticeship will run for 28 months, including 6 months preparation for the End Point Assessment [EPA]
The Training provider is Southampton Solent University
Training will be delivered via day release attendance over 22 months in term time – Blended learning supported with On-line learning [SOL], and peer learning, with support in preparation for EPA alongside reviews at regular intervals.

Essential entry criteria: At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or 4+ or higher, including Maths and English
Desirable entry criteria: A previous level 2 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications, and relevant experience with supervision.
Professional Qualification: HNC Construction Management, Technician status, or equivalent level of membership from the professional awarding body.
