Operations Manager - Healthcare

We are working with a Healthcare trust whom require an operations manager with immediate effect for at least the next 6 months to take on a temporary contract.
Job Purpose:
To develop and deliver high quality, responsive and cost effective services in line with the requirements of Key stakeholders, the Trust strategic direction, and the Directorates Annual Service Plan.
To provide and develop a working environment and open culture which fosters high morale and commitment among staff and promotes their wellbeing, professional and personal development.
The post holder will lead the operational management team to coordinate the administrative 18 week pathway for patients, coordinating the work of the Speciality Administration Teams ensuring there is effective co-operation between departments involved in the delivery of services for the elective and emergency pathway.
The post-holder is responsible for the collection of accurate and timely data regarding patients, and ensuring that both outpatient and inpatient capacity is sufficient for demand both in real time and looking forward
The post-holder is also to be involved / lead service improvement programmes to streamline the patient journey and improve the quality of patient care.
Duties:
To support the Directorate senior management team in the planning, development, provision and review of the Directorate services
Work with the operational team to ensure that the service actively coordinates and manages proactively the administrative pathway of all patients on the speciality elective waiting lists, including the diagnostic and planned waiting lists to ensure the appropriate waiting time targets are met for these patients
This will require liaison with the clinicians, wards, pre-assessment team, Theatres & Sunderland Day Care Centre, the Admin & Clerical teams, diagnostic departments, Outpatients etc
To provide leadership to the operational administration, clerical/reception services to ensure that they deliver a responsive, high quality and effective access service
This will include monitoring team sickness absence and ensuring regular appraisal and monitoring objectives against the KSF for individuals in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures, and proposing and co-ordinating training to support development of team members
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm - Office Based
