Production Supervisor
Description✓Production Supervisor **
✓Hours: Monday to Thursday 6 am – 4:15 pm [ please note that working hours may change depending on production requirements]
✓Location: Huddersfield [HD5].
✓Hourly rate: £13.82 p/h
✓**Temporary to Permanent contract after 12 weeks **
✓**Please note previous supervisor/team leading experience is necessary! **
✓As a Supervisor, you will report directly to the Production Manager[s] where you will have shared responsibility for a team.
✓You will make sure all products are manufactured to customer standards before despatch.
✓At the start of the day will assume the responsibility for the day-to-day effective management of the production process across the site while working closely with the Team Leaders and Production Manager[s]
✓You will be responsible for:
✓Ensuring daily operations of the department are carried out safely and efficiently and in line with Company policies.
✓Conducting training and manufacturing employee records in conjunction with Health and Safety and HR, ensuring that all employees are in line with all regulations.
✓Be highly organized with the ability to prioritize a diverse workload and plan accordingly to maximize productivity.
✓recruit and manage temporary agency staff as and when required.
✓Encourage best practices and Lean principles and methodologies.
✓Manage and carry out Appraisals with direct reports.
✓Ensuring employees within the assigned department are fully trained and in line with Health and Safety requirements.
✓Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow and that required TPM is carried out daily and correctly.
✓Manage working hours and overtime in accordance with the demand ensuring sufficient operatives are available to achieve the production targets.
✓Key Skills:
✓Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word & Outlook.
✓Ability to tackle problems in a logical manner.
✓Demonstrate good communication with the ability to work as part of the team and to drive the effective performance of the team.
✓A working knowledge of stock accuracies.
✓Good numeracy skills.
✓Personal Attributes:
✓To be patient and tolerant.
✓To have a good work ethic.
✓To be prepared to work extra to achieve customer deadlines.
✓To have the ability to work under pressure at times.
