Project Assistant
Description✓Fixed Term until the 31st March 2024
✓Full Time 37 hours per week
✓Business Support and Innovation [Projects and Programmes], part of Economy, Enterprise & skills, is a dynamic team delivering grants, business support and sector development across Devon and the Heart of the South West
✓We are a fast-moving agile team where flexibility, professionalism and practicality are key to maximise opportunities for our local economy in a changing strategic landscape.
✓An exciting opportunity to join the team as a Project Assistant has become available
✓The role is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2024
✓This role will support in the delivery of a UK Shared Prosperity Fund business support programme, with a focus on start up and green support as well as job creation
✓In addition to this the role will include supporting on delivering several large-scale events for the agricultural sector alongside the Project Manager.
✓Developing support for business across Devon including the Agriculture and Food sector is one of several key areas managed by the team to drive economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and building long term resilience and sustainable growth.
✓The business support programme has ambitious targets and timescales and therefore we are looking for someone with excellent organisational, communication, time management skills and a strong drive to achieve success
✓Good knowledge of small, medium & micro business sectors would be useful
✓In addition, strong knowledge of the economic landscape in Devon and the current challenges and future opportunities is essential.
✓As the successful candidate you will ideally have experience in coordinating and delivering projects
✓Due to the nature of the role is it essential that you also have:
✓* Experience of working with external partners.
✓* Exceptional organisational skills and time management.
✓* An understanding of economic policy, challenges of the Devon & Heart of the South West economy and knowledge or interest in current agricultural and food policies would be beneficial.
✓* Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels both written and verbal.
✓* Good understanding of ICT and experience of using content management systems, e-marketing and social media platforms and tools.
✓* Ability to manage workloads with conflicting priorities and deliver within timescales.
✓* Experience of marketing and engagement including advertising; promotion; direct mail; PR; communications; digital marketing; social media and e-marketing techniques.
✓* Experience of organising and delivering events.
✓It is intended that the post holder will split their time across two projects, with a particular focus on the SPF Business support programme as well as periodic work on organising and facilitating events for the SPF Agri events project
✓The successful candidate will be required to be adaptable, have flexibility to prioritise work and a willingness to embrace a forward thinking and dynamic team environment.
