Our client, Wilton Carpets Factory have dedicated themselves to crafting beautiful and durable wool carpets for a broad range of commercial environments without compromise
They are part of the fabric and heritage of the country, using the same site as 300 years ago when they started and continue to use British wool maintaining relentless attention to the quality of what they produce.
To negotiate and manage all raw material and energy contracts and to ensure that they meet the required standards and are delivered on time, they are now looking for a Technical Service Manager to join their team in Salisbury, Wiltshire
You will also look after H&S and ISO within the factory as well as have the overall responsibility for production planning.
Technical Service Manager, the role:
* QMS Systems – making sure Health and Safety legislation is complied with; managing ISO systems within factory; overlooking carpets’ technical and testing certificates; chair ISO and H&S meetings
* Materials – purchase and negotiate all raw material contracts; ensuring quality and standards of raw materials are correct; shade matching of yarn and production carpet; negotiate energy contracts
* Suppliers – liaise with all suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and overseeing tufting manufacturers on shade matching, quality, design etc.
* Production planning – planning and scheduling of all materials, loom loading, dates; communicate planned production dates to sales administration; managing 2 staff members.
Technical Service Manager, the person:
* Previous experience in a similar role and technical background – full training within specific sector will be given
* Good understanding of ERP systems
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principals as well as material control
* Pro-active and a team player with strong leadership skills and proven ability to develop others
* Organised and natural problem solver with excellent communication skills
* Exceptional user of Microsoft Package
* Efficient coordinator with detailed approach to work
* Energetic and dynamic individual with “can do” attitude
* Good analytical, problem solving and planning skills
* Driving Licence – occasional visits to suppliers in Yorkshire will be required
* NEBOSH or alternative qualifications would be desirable
