Deputy Night Shift Manager
Description✓A&G Resourcing Ltd is looking for an experienced Deputy Shift Manager to join our successful client based in Reading.
✓Night shift.
✓Sunday-Thursday [Fri & Sat off]
✓16:00pm – 02:00am [flexibility essential]
✓Salary - £33,750 /year + bonus scheme
✓Main Purpose of the Role:
✓To ensure a safe and productive working environment and to supply the Packing/Loading department with a high quality and reliable service.

✓This is an integral role within the Production department, helping to deliver their successful reputation.
✓As a Deputy Shift Manager, you will be responsible for allocating shift of up to 70 staff, including Supervisors.
✓Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
✓* To ensure the smooth running of the production department by assisting the Production Manager and Shift Manager with day to day operational issues.
✓* Taking full responsibility for the site during absence of Shift Manager and Senior Management.
✓* Making sure the operational targets are achieved by ensuring that all areas of production are adequately staffed, resourced and utilised.
✓* Being active in managing staff probations, including probation reviews.
✓* Training staff, including on the job training, health and safety training.
✓* To review the performance of production staff and identify, influence and implement training and development needs for these staff, whilst acting as a mentor
✓* To ensure that Health and Safety Legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to, and a culture of safe working promoted, including management of all PPE
✓* To follow clear and concise communication channels across all operational departments and all other business functions
✓* To work with the packing/loading department to ensure sufficient supply of linen
✓* To be responsible for managing all production staff within your remit, including welfare issues
✓* To monitor and effectively manage staff annual leave.
✓* To be responsible for housekeeping standards
✓The factory should always be left in clean and tidy condition at start and end of shift
✓* To adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards to all Company financial, salary and HR matters.
✓* To actively monitor quality and to work with staff and the Engineering Department to deliver the Quality Standards
✓Skills / experienced required:
✓* At least 3 years’ experience of senior management within production / manufacturing
✓* Experience of managing multiple teams/cross site working in a production environment
✓* Ability to coach and mentor others, identifying development plans and creating robust succession plans
✓* Good working knowledge of Health and Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
✓* Excellent communication skills
✓* Great IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work in progress and production schedules
