Manufacturing Quality Engineer

DescriptionThe Manufacturing Quality Engineer will support the Manufacturing Engineering team, playing an active and key role in the development of the Quality Engineering function and supporting customer requirements.
Interfaces with customers to assess and address customer concerns and complaints
Fully complies with concern investigation and resolution process
Value added collaboration on project related documentation, in particular approval of customer requirements, design specifications, technical drawings and specifications, design verification and validation documents plus other project related documentation.
Take team member and facilitation role in ensuring risk analysis are complete, ensure all product risks are identified using DFMEAs, PFMEAs, APQP, Capability Studies and other risk management techniques
Develops, analyses and maintains quality metrics
Continually works with suppliers to improve performance by implementing improvement plans and process
Ability to performs customer / supplier QMS audits and supports customer / supplier quality improvements
Interacts with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing suppliers to improve quality of processes
Develops policies, procedures and methods to check product, material, components and / or operational quality
Develops, assures, maintains and audits the quality of products and processes which can include standard procedures [e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 family of standards], quality audits / review
Develops and implements technically complex methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed
To be successful in this role of Manufacturing Quality Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
HNC or above level qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Experience working as a Quality Engineering within a manufacturing or Process Engineering environment
Experience performing customer / supplier QMS audits
Experience working to standard procedures, including ISO9001 and / or ISO14001
Experience of ensuring production problems are robust and the product is produced to the desired quality
Mechanical bias knowledge with some electrical skills
A good understanding of Quality Management processes, including documentation such as ISIR and FAIR requirements, PPAP, 8D
Practical problem solving skills, including understanding manufacturing processes and solving issues on the shop floor
