Material Controller

Experience needed to be the successful Material Controller:
Ensuring the NPI material requirements are ordered and expedited on time to tight timelines accounting for the impact on inventory value
Placing orders in line with system requirements ensuring the supplier's due date achieves the production due date, taking into account the impact on inventory value
Ensuring materials are expedited in a timely manner and the supplier achieves high due date delivery performance [>90%]
Ensuring the provision of relevant data to support supplier discussions or internal review
Facilitating any quality issues that may obstruct supply with relevant departments
Supporting the resolution of any invoice queries for delivery discrepancies
Supporting the management of materials for new project introductions
Maintaining stock and demand data with a view to optimising inventory
Helping to develop stock management systems and processes
Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the team
Support other teams and functions as required
Experience and skills needed to be the appointed Material Controller will be:
Previous proven experience within a similar role within a fast-paced engineering environment
Understanding of MRP systems
Previous experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with teams
Good IT skills
Good attention to detail
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
