✓Do you have an interest in all things electrical or mechanical? Perhaps you've worked in environments where you've been exposed to the electrical or mechanical side of things, but have not had the opportunity to begin a qualification? Or maybe you're a college leaver, looking for your start in the industry?
✓We're looking to hire apprentices, to become a Mine Electrician and, Mine Fitters.
✓You'll be working for British Gypsum, based in our Brightling Mine near Burwash, East Sussex.
✓British Gypsum is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and they are the UK's leading manufacturer of interior lining systems.
✓What will I be doing in the role?
✓To begin with, you will assist the Electrical/ Mechanical teams with their day-to-day tasks.
✓Some of the duties you will have the chance to assist with, learn about and get involved in include.
✓Carrying out Mechanical/Electrical works underground & on the surface at the mine.
✓Servicing and repairs of mobile equipment and conveyor systems.
✓Being aware of Environmental/mining hazards and act appropriately when safety concerns of this type are highlighted, as well as promoting a positive safety culture
✓Assist and help carry out the installation/commissioning of a variety of services/systems
✓Helping to carry out mine maintenance & Improvements
✓Is this role right for me?
✓We're not looking for any specific background, however an electrical or mechanical interest would benefit, along with the openness to working in a mine.
✓If you've had some form of training previously or are currently undertaking a college course, that would be useful, but not a must have.
