DescriptionProcess Engineer – SAICA Paper
  
Reporting to the Production Manager, The Process Engineer will be responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the Stock preparation area of the paper mill
To do this the Process Engineer will ensure the operations team adhere to the safety, environmental, quality and productivity targets of the department and wider business.
  
The Process Engineer will gather and monitor operational data in order to establish an effective plan which continues to improve on the current performance of the department.
  
SAICA Paper operate a large manufacturing facility in Carrington, near Manchester and they are one of the leading paper making companies in the UK
They produce container board which is used in a packaging application.
  
This is a key position and one in which the future leaders of the business typically emanate from.
  
Selected responsibilities of the Process Engineer
Promote and follow the site H&S procedures, practices and propose improvements
Follow the site environmental procedures, practices and propose improvements
Ensure the correct sorting of the waste generated in the stock prep area
Lead or participate in teams investigating RCA that occur, identifying opportunities for improvements in installations or procedures and putting into practice the actions that are defined
Analyse and record the production losses
Decide on the corrective actions to be taken and identify opportunities for improvement in order to avoid repetitive failures
Support Production manager in ensuring that theKPIs for safety, environment, quality and production are met, and help to manage the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the production area
Supporting the production manager in setting standards and best practices in the production area to meet these targets
Coordinate and prioritise all corrective, preventative & predictive maintenance shut work activities in the production to allow efficient use of maintenance shut down time
Support the Production Manager in planning the annual maintenance shutdown
Lead the mapping of all the activities carried out by production crew under the production area and jobs under process engineer supervision to ensure they are all Risk Assessed with a proper SOPs to comply with HSE regulations
Ensure they are available and updated in WIS
Follow up all TPM activities for the stock preparation area
Provide technical leaderships for operators within the stock preparation area
Ensure the consumables required in the stock preparation area are on hand and effective orders are put in place to make sure of availability
Support the Production Manager in identifying CAPEX investments
Provide cover for the Effluent treatment plant area where required
Be available from Monday to Thursdays at any time for any support shift crew may need when you are not on holidays
Participate in the Production Area On Call Rota   
We would be looking for a candidate who has the following qualifications and experience.
Bachelors or Master’s Degree: e.g
Chemical Engineering BSC [MSc Optional]
At least 3 year experience in the Process Industry would be essential
