Events Consultant

DescriptionMy client, a UK’s leading membership provider near Shropshire is recruiting an experienced Events Consultant to cover a 12 month fixed term contract
As an Events Consultant you will deliver key event strategy activities - from conception through to delivery and review, managing a full and varied programme of client retention and lead generation events for the different business areas.
Lead the end-to-end event management of each event project across all aspects of delivery including idea generation, concept development, budget assessment, logistics analysis, invitation process, design process management, content review, event marketing communications execution, customer contact and booking management, staff management, on-site event delivery, post-event communications, evaluation and reporting.
Manage matrix of events which include, large scale stand build exhibitions, business theatre programming, webinar delivery including technical support, multiple day overseas hospitality events, content-focused face-to-face workshops, consultancy visits, and online courses.
Collaborate with Design team to effectively scope and brief in the design elements of all artwork required to ensure the event materials have maximum impact and underpin brand values.
Collaborate with Brand & Communications team and deliver pre-event and post-event marketing campaigns to drive awareness and maximise reach and impact, utilising all available channels including, website management, eshots, social media, advertising, podcasting, printed collateral and digital marketing.
Be able to draw conclusions and actively make recommendations to drive improvements across our events programme to deliver better customer outcomes and maximise lead generation.
Write engaging and insightful copy to be used across our event materials that is in keeping with the brand.
Work closely with key event suppliers to negotiate and agree on terms of business and collaborate with our procurement and supplier management and legal teams to ensure optimum results.
Complex budget management including working with foreign currencies and fluctuating exchange rates to deliver your event activities within budget, negotiating to drive cost savings and making the call on event spend to ensure you deliver within budget and on time.
Establish use of regular customer insight and MI to underpin and inform future recommendations on event strategy.
Event management and on-site event support, including the management of staff, suppliers, and clients on-site, including dealing with challenging conversations and safeguarding event attendees.
Deliver strategic objectives for business collaboration and cross-referrals, maximising cross referral opportunities
Conduct thorough risk assessments for all event activities and manage allergen and access requirement process, ensuring we always safeguard attendees.
Manage approvals of customer-facing events materials, utilising our approvals processes.
Ensure all event materials comply with regulatory requirements and implement regulatory changes to customer-facing event materials where appropriate.
Manage own risk including the implementation of appropriate controls to ensure strong risk and governance in line with the wider group’s risk management and compliance policies and procedures.
Skills Required:
Must have recent Events experience [end to end] in an events and marketing environment
Knowledge of marketing and working with design teams is desirable
Demonstrable experience in strategic thinking.
Customer centric.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Results orientated with a determined attitude.
Strong commercial acumen.
Proven experience of strong event project management skills, including the end-to-end organisation and management of multiple event projects across all aspects of delivery.
Complex budget management capability.
Ability to perform under pressure and effectively prioritise workload whilst working to deadlines.
Strong creative copy writing skills, possessing an excellent standard of English, both written and oral.
Ability to develop strategic event activities that deliver against targets.
Ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including the management of agency and third-party supplier relationships.
Competent in all I.T
software, including Microsoft.
Strong idea generation and creative thinking ability.
Able to travel and can be flexible with working patterns.
Able to start immediately and commit to this 12 month FTC
Salary up to £29,500, depending on experience
Hybrid role, 2 days in office, 3 from home – flexible
Monday – Friday 9am-5pm [core hours 10am-4pm]
