Managing Editor Special Collections
Description✓A leading publisher of special collections STM journals is now hiring for a Managing Editor to work closely with their Associate Director and developing the portfolio in engineering and other scientific subject areas.
✓This is a London hybrid role with an average of 1 day a week in the office.
✓Responsibilities:
✓Leading content commissioning strategies as instructed by the Associate Director
✓Working with internal as well as external journal editors to develop the portfolio
✓Driving revenue growth via increased APC-paying submissions
✓Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues
✓Networking and building relationships with leading researchers globally to promote journal content initiatives
✓This role will work very closely with scientific and technical content, and it requires a background in Engineering or Life Sciences, together with a firm grasp of research principles and reporting standards.
✓The ideal candidate will have experience in a commissioning or acquisition role in journal publishing, preferably within a scientific discipline, and a good understanding of Open Access practices.
