DescriptionAre you an experienced Dietitian looking for a rewarding opportunity? If so, join the team at Hillview Hospital in Ebbw Vale as a Dietician and be the reason why lives change for the better.
As a Dietitian with experience from the NHS or private sector, you will know one or two things about healthy living as you promote recovery and will liaise with the wider community of dieticians, catering team and GPs where you will agree, monitor and implement service users' nutrition and diet health plans.
Working 37.5 hours a week as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth

Your responsibilities will include:
To act as a point of contact for patients / residents, carers and staff
To assess patients' weight and advice regarding calories for the multi-disciplinary Team [MDT].
To undertake Nutritional assessments and formulate and organise nutrition and dietary therapy, make recommendations and plan interventions suitable for the Service Users medical, social and cultural circumstances based on clinical assessment and a sound evidence base.
To negotiate change with patients to enable them to achieve dietary targets set using basic counselling, motivational, interviewing and behaviour change techniques.
To monitor and review nutritional care plans against outcome measures, adjusting individual care plans to facilitate achievement of goals.
To advise medical and nursing staff on the management of individual patients' dietary treatment, nutritional status and treatment options.
To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients
To contribute to team formulations for services users with the MDT.
To devise treatment plans with the multi-disciplinary team and assist them to carry these through.
To liaise closely with colleagues across a range of care teams to provide timely, accurate and effective treatment, supporting non-specialist colleagues in carrying out direct work themselves wherever this is appropriate.
To be a key member o f the multi-disciplinary team.To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Evidence of previous and ongoing commitment to continuous professional development
Qualification in Dietetics and registration with HCPC
Ability to work both assertively and with awareness of one's limitations, excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Confident and assertive
Good time-management skills
Excellent assessment skills with this client group, including risk assessment and management
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels remaining sensitive and empathetic
UK driving licence must be held, a copy will be required to be submitted
